With the commencement of the climbing season, the NZ Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA) Technical Sub Committee has released a set of recommendations regarding helmets and self-arrest training. The NZMGA Technical Sub Committee has also produced a comprehensive report following the December 2006 Sealy Range Accident. This report is now with the coroner and is not yet available to the public. There is still no word on when the inquest into the accident will take place.
