The Magazine for New Zealand’s Outdoor CommunityKi Waho – Into The Outdoors is a new magazine designed, edited and published by Outdoors New Zealand (ONZ) on behalf of the outdoor community. Ki Waho is designed to foster learning, innovation, best practices, knowledge transfer and collaboration within the outdoors sector, both nationally and internationally. Ki Waho brings New Zealand’s outdoor community together to share knowledge and ideas, foster innovation and best practices, encourage environmental responsibility and cultural understanding, and promote safe and enjoyable experiences in the great outdoors.
Apology In the last issue of Ki Waho, Outdoors New Zealand published an apology regarding an article entitled Climbing Helmet Research which had appeared in Issue One – the Winter Mountain Edition. Further to that, Outdoors New Zealand wish to unreservedly apologise to the following authors for publishing their material without permission: Michael Hodgson, Andy Kirkpatrick and Mark Taylor. We also wish to apologise for mistakenly publishing this material in the name of Aaron Halstead. As mentioned in our apology in Issue 2 of Ki Waho, Aaron Halstead put together this research on climbing helmets for the benefit of our outdoor community, but in doing so, he and Outdoors New Zealand failed to make it clear who had written the material. To our readers, we apologise for this lapse in professionalism and for any ensuing confusion. We are now putting together specific submission guidelines for writers to ensure that this does not happen again. We acknowledge the generous support of Michael Hodgson in producing these guidelines.
