Paul Chaplow, CEO of Outdoors New Zealand pushes his bike through snow over the Old Man range in Central Otago
Last week our intrepid CEO set off to take part in the Great Southern Brevet, a 1100 km bicycle tour around the South Island. Paul, alongside 3 others in his group crossed the finish line 5 and a half days later. He was 3 kilos lighter but full of smiles havgin really enjoyed the event.
Looking back at the event Paul said:
"The GSB was a bike event of epic proportions, big hills, big views and big miles. Finishing at 1am in rain/sleet, in some a strange way, seemed an appropriate way to complete the circuit. I am elated to have done it."
The event takes place in the iconic Mackenzie High Country, the Lakes, and through to Central Otago and Southland and back again to the High Country. To find out more about the event go to the website by clicking here.
