OutdoorsMark Update

The big news in the OutdoorsMark world is that the online audit form and guide are ready to go.

This latest version of the OutdoorsMark audit is quicker and simpler than the previous one and is hyperlinked to an accompanying guide that explains what each audit criterion, or ‘question’, means. Click on the Apply Now button on the OutdoorsMark section of the website to start the process. The guide, ‘OutdoorsMark 101’, will lead you through what is needed for a successful audit, and there is always help at hand from the Outdoors NZ staff.

At the time of this e-letter the Department of Labour has not published the guidelines around the adventure activities regulations. We are hopeful they will be published soon and will assist everyone to better interpret the new addition to health and safety legislation.

Another thing yet to be published is the Department of Labour standard for the assessment of adventure activity providers. We are confident the standard and OutdoorsMark will very closely align.
